Hello Pinjarra!! My name is Asher and I am the newest Remedial Massage Therapist to join the team at 4 Life Physiotherapy Pinjarra. I have been a Remedial Massage Therapist for 4 1/2 years. I graduated from the Australian Institute of Fitness with a Diploma. When I completed the CERT IV part of my qualification, I made the risky decision of leaving my full-time financial industry background and starting my own massage business from home. From there I continued working on my skills and studying to complete the Diploma. It has been the best decision I have ever made! I also began working in private practice as well as volunteering at a lot of sporting events including Ironman events and the Hawaiian Ride for Youth.
After a year my boyfriend and I decided to move to his hometown in Ireland for just over 12 months. We worked as well as traveled throughout the UK and Europe. It was such a great experience to see how remedial massage works over there. As it was only starting to become popular in the town where I lived, I worked part-time as a remedial therapist and was lucky enough to help out with the management of injuries at the local soccer club.
We have been back in Mandurah for 3 1/2 years now and I returned to my home clinic which my clients were very happy about. We have since had a little girl and now I am excited to be returning to part-time clinic work.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT WORKING AS A REMEDIAL MASSAGE THERAPIST: - Being able to work with different people every day - Each treatment is uniquely designed and adapted for each individual client - Being able to help people whether the problem is pain/discomfort, restricted mobility, or just a little relaxation / TLC - Forever learning & evolving with new skills/techniques as the industry is always changing - Helping educate people about the benefits of remedial massage - Working in a team environment with other professionals in the allied health industry I could list a lot more but these are just some of the highlights.
